Welcome to our detailed guide on Bastion Nymic in The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). In this guide, we’ll explain what Bastion Nymic is, how you can access it, and how the various puzzles and encounters within this new event work.
Bastion Nymic is an innovative new world event introduced with the Necrom chapter of ESO. Unlike previous world events such as Dolmens, Harrowstorms, or Dragons, which players are familiar with from older zones, Bastion Nymic offers a different experience. It is an instanced world event, where portals to this special location can be found in the Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha. However, it’s not just a matter of simply entering the portal and defeating a few enemies. The event itself has some unique mechanics and challenges that will require a bit more effort to access and complete.
How to Access Bastion Nymic
The first step to engaging with Bastion Nymic is to gain access. This event is distinct in two major ways: it is instanced, meaning you’ll enter a unique version of the world for the event, and it can only be accessed by completing a daily quest.
To start, head to the city of Necrom on the Telvanni Peninsula and speak to Ordinator Tandasea to pick up the relevant daily quest. This quest will ask you to collect five Daedric Ichor, which is obtained by defeating Herald’s Seekers – essentially roaming World Bosses that can be found around the map. When you accept the quest, areas where Herald’s Seekers are located will be marked on your map, making it easier for you to find them.

If you’re on your own, you’ll need to defeat five Herald’s Seekers to collect the required amount of Daedric Ichor. However, if you’re in a group, your progress is shared. For instance, if you’re with a group of three or more players, you’ll only need to defeat two Herald’s Seekers, as their Ichor drops will count toward the total.
Once you’ve collected enough Daedric Ichor, the quest will guide you to the nearest Bastion Nymic portal. You can then interact with the portal and spend the Ichor to enter Bastion Nymic.

Bastion Nymic Layout Explained
Once you’ve entered Bastion Nymic, you will find yourself near the center of the event’s map. The quest will direct you to one of the three regions that lie around the edge of the map. Each of these regions has its own distinct theme and features different types of enemies, puzzles, and bosses. The regions you will encounter are:
- Dreaming Quarter
- Plagued Quarter
- Subverted Quarter
Your main objective in these regions is to navigate to the indicated side-boss and defeat it. Along the way, you will face various groups of enemies, and you may also come across optional puzzles that you can choose to complete. These puzzles are not required but can reward you with additional loot and experience.
After you defeat the side-boss in one of these regions, the quest will direct you back to the middle of Bastion Nymic, where the final boss will have spawned. A portal will open, allowing you to return to the central area.
At this point, you can either choose to challenge the final boss right away or take the time to explore the other two regions, defeat their bosses, and solve any puzzles you may have missed. It’s important to note that once you defeat the final boss, all other bosses and content in Bastion Nymic will despawn. If your goal is to maximize your loot, it’s advisable to save the final boss for last, as completing the other areas will grant you additional rewards.

The final boss in Bastion Nymic will be one of three possible enemies: the Nymic Refuter, the Nymic Defier, or the Nymic Purifier. Defeating each of these bosses is part of the Bane of Heralds achievement, so if you’re aiming for this specific achievement, you’ll need to complete at least three runs of Bastion Nymic, one for each of the bosses.
In terms of duration, completing Bastion Nymic will typically take as long as an average 4-player dungeon. This can vary slightly depending on how much time you spend exploring the different regions and solving puzzles, but expect the event to be roughly the same length.
By the time you’ve completed all the challenges in Bastion Nymic, you’ll have experienced a unique and rewarding event within ESO. Whether you’re after the loot, the achievement, or simply enjoy tackling puzzles and bosses, Bastion Nymic offers a fresh way to experience the world of The Elder Scrolls Online.
